The Hard Points were originally conceived to allow use of the Heliporter® ground handling system to transport the MD 500. By lifting on the hard points, rather than the aircraft skin, the risk of damage to the aircraft is minimized. The Hard Points are also approved for suspended loads of 230 lbs. each. This provides mounts for many different types of external equipment such as cameras, searchlights, etc. The kit is FAA/PMA Approved.
